I've never really felt attached to a celebrity enough to get really bummed out about them passing away until now. The Beastie Boys were my favorite group from the age of about 12 on, ever since my Uncle George made me a mix tape with the Beastie's on one side and Dead Kennedy's on the other. (I know, rad uncle). As I've grown older I find that any one of any sort of celebrity status doesn't mean shit to me unless they use that power for good and just seem like good, cool people. MCA was exactly that, he just seemed like a nice, cool guy. It really sucks for the world to lose a guy like that.
Not that it really matters, but Paul's Boutique is my favorite Beastie album, that shit is solid!
