Positive Vibes for Sadie

Everyone please take a minute to send some positive vibes to a very important part of the LYDF Family, Sadie. Sadie is currently in hospice due to complications from a surgery in attempt to correct a long term illness she has. She has been an incredible supporter of and a huge part of the LYDF Family since we first began and she has become a really great friend and a big part of what we do here. We've spoken with her family and the outlook is not good but we know that she is a fighter. So once again, I ask that you take a minute to send some good thoughts her way.

Hank Williams III - Rebel Within

Title track off my favorite Hank III album so far.

Downtown Prophecies

I had an excellent conversation with a couple of buddies last night who are both doing some very cool things and have a very similar mindset to me as far as controlling your own destiny, getting out and creating the experiences you want in life. We talked a lot about how much more would be accomplished if people would take the steps they need to make their dreams come true; move to where they want to live, start the business they want to start, have the adventures they want to have, etc... I'm stoked and very fortunate to be surrounded by the people who are making change in the world by leading the kind of lives they want and desire for. One of the things that came up, and I think I've said it on here before, is that I don't ever want to be in a situation as an old man where I'm telling some young whipper-snapper a story about how I wanted to start  business, I wanted to ride across the country, I wanted to move here or there or whatever it might be.
Live the life you want to live, the life that makes you happy and go out and create those life experiences. It might be tough and scary but it is abundantly rewarding in the end. No one's life was ever drastically changed by going to the same bar and sitting on the same stool and telling the same story about what they plan to do. Get out and make it happen.
Anyways, that's my prophetic advice for the day...take it or leave it.

Sound Advice

"So many people live within unhappy circumstances and yet will not take the initiative to change their situation because they are conditioned to a life of security, conformity, and conservatism, all of which may appear to give one peace of mind, but in reality nothing is more dangerous to the adventurous spirit within a man than a secure future. The very basic core of a man's living spirit is his passion for adventure. The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun." - Alexander Supertramp
"In a world where 1% of the population owns 40% of the planet's wealth… in a world where 34,000 children die every single day from poverty and preventable diseases, and where 50% of the world's population lives on less than 2 dollars a day… one thing is clear: Something is very wrong.

And whether we are aware of it or not, the lifeblood of all of our established institutions and thus society itself, is money. Therefore understanding this institution of monetary policy is critical to understanding why our lives are the way they are.

Unfortunately, economics is often viewed with confusion and boredom. Endless streams of financial jargon coupled with intimidating mathematics quickly deter people from attempts at understanding it. However, the fact is, the complexity associated with the financial system is a mere mask, designed to conceal one of the most socially paralyzing structures humanity has ever endured.

“There are two ways to conquer and enslave a nation. One is by the sword. The other is by debt.” -John Adams-1735-1826"

Educate yourself: http://thezeitgeistmovement.com/

If you're in the St. Cloud area there is going to be a fantastic educational opportunity on the Zeitgeist Movement on Monday, January 31st at the WestSide Liquor and Learning Event Center in Sartell from 6:30-8:30pm. I spoke with the organizer of the event last night and it sounds like she has a great presentation lined up with a lot of information for attendees.

Death Trap

Troy stopped by headquarters tonight with the newly painted and gold leafed tank for his latest creation, "Death Trap", it's the newest version of the Softail he crashed and burned to a crisp last year. Just one of the many many details that make it such a killer ride, I'll have some shots of it up here when it's all done.
Uncle Pat not only took these pictures tonight but he also designed the Death Trap logo. A man of many talents that Uncle Pat...

Thanks Uncle Pat!

Kid Kurpius

Now and again I'll hear folks spewing some rhetoric about who's really "doing shit right" or "living the dream" or blah blah blah. For me, one dude that always comes to mind is Josh Kurpius. Check out any of his amazing photography work and I think you'll agree. Seems to be just a real no bullshit, cool guy.

These pics were taken with permission from Josh's website JOSHKURPIUS.COM Check it out!
